How does using your card free up cash on hand?

Receive invoice

George receives Term 1 invoice from British International School on July 1st with a 30-day payment term

Pay recipient

He charges the invoice amount to his credit card on July 15th via CardUp, and British International School receives the payment on time via a bank transfer

Delay payment

His credit card statement arrives on August 1st, and is only due on September 1st (30 days later). George has therefore deferred his cash outflow from July 15th to September 1st, extending his invoice payment terms by up to 2 months, interest-free!
